Featured Artists : MFÖ MFÖ is an acronym for Mazhar Fuat Özkan, the first names of the three musicians that make up the band. Mazhar is the one in the image to your right, and he writes most of the lyrics and music. His voice is also the deepest, which you're sure to notice right away. MFÖ has been around for years, some of their songs my parents sung along with in college, and they're still strong. I went to one of their concerts in Istanbul summer '03. The venue was sold out and everyone knew all the words, even though these guys were among the first when pop and rock music began to rise in popularity in Turkey. They've got a unique sound, and I personally love Mazhar's voice. Their songs range from unmercifully sarcastic, to goofy, to downright tragic. Plus, my music elitist boyfriend actually thinks they're pretty good (even though he doesn't know Turkish), which says a lot. Short Song Clips
