Featured Artists : Tarkan I don't even try to hide the fact that I am a huge Tarkan fan. My boyfriend regards my poster of Tarkan that hangs above my bed (and travels with me everywhere I go) as his only competition. Although, my feelings have been fluctuating lately. I love almost all of Tarkan's Turkish songs, but recently he came out with an English album that made me fear for him becoming the next Ricky Martin. The album, BOUNCE, actually only has two songs, Bounce, and I Wanna Hear Love Speak. The rest of the seven or so songs are all remixes, which is a tactic that Tarkan likes to use often that also disappoints me at times. The English songs sound like they belong in a techno club, and the English lyrics don't convey the wonderful depth of his Turkish songs. However, that doesn't change the fact that I listen to these songs as a guilty pleasure... I'd like to deny it, but it's true. Anyway, in regards to his Turkish songs, Tarkan is quite the sensation. He's got a way of singing and playing with words and other vocal effects that's truly original. Not to mention, he's terribly attractive, he has an amazing voice, and he ownz the dance floor. In conclusion, Tarkan is spectacular. People in other languages have ripped off his songs (anyone heard the English version of Şımarık? Yeah, that was a catastrophe), have taken whole CDs of his and remade them. There are many Tarkan posers in Turkey nowadays, but none of them can pull off what he does. He's just got an air about him. Everybody wants to be Tarkan. In fact, I bet even you want to be him. Short Song Clips
